Today, we travel to the Smoky Mountains of Tennessee for a spectacular and fun-filled celebration of Christmas and the New Year. Breakfast (on your own) at McDonald's, Grayson, KY. Lunch (on your own) fast food. Mid-afternoon we check into the new Drury Inn & Suites, Pigeon Forge for our 2-night stay, 865-365-3600, (free wifi, frig, microwave, indoor pool). The hotel is within walking distance of lots of specialty shops and restaurants. Time to freshen up before we depart for our evening.
This evening, we have a wonderful dinner (included) at 5:00pm at the Apple Barn Farmhouse Restaurant. You will enjoy Applewood's Famous Apple Fritter's, Homemade Apple Butter and Applewood Julep. They will serve you a cup of Grandma's Vegetable Soup. You will have an entrée choice from Applewood Famous Southern Fried Chicken, Angus Ground Steak, Tender Slow Roasted Pot Roast, Chicken Cordon Bleu, or Original Sampler Trio; Fried Chicken, Chicken & Dumplings & Pot Pie, each meal served with mashed potatoes, green beans, macaroni & cheese, choice of apple cobbler w/vanilla ice cream or double chocolate cake w/vanilla ice cream, rolls, tea, coffee or soft drink.

Tonight, we take our seats for Christmas at ARRAY! at the Mountain of Entertainment Theater. The most wonderful time of the year! The two-hour extravaganza features world-class vocalists, incredible yuletide dancers, and amazing musicians performing all your Christmas classics and new favorites. They will share the real reason we celebrate the season; the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, with a touching and life-changing Nativity scene.
We will drive through Pigeon Forge and see the beautiful "Winterfest of Lights".
We return to the hotel to get some rest after our busy day.

After the show, we visit The Island for some time to enjoy on your own.
The Island in Pigeon Forge offers affordable fun day and night. Showcased by The Great Smoky Mountain Wheel, a 200-foot-high observation wheel, and a multi-million dollar show fountain, The Island provides the area's newest shopping, dining and entertainment options in the East Tennessee area. You can enjoy lunch (on your own) at over 18 unique restaurants such as Paula Deen's Family Kitchen, Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville, Timberwood Grill, Mellow Mushroom Stone-baked Pizza and many more to choose from. We return to the hotel to freshen up for our fun evening and enjoy the 5:30 Kickback Meal in the hotel. We depart at 6:45pm. for our show.

Our final show will be at the Country Tonite Theater where we will enjoy their fantastic Christmas Show! They are in their 29th season in Pigeon Forge. The magic of Christmas abounds as the talented renditions of Christmas favorites combined with beautiful choreography, brightly decorated holiday sets and colorful costumes bring the enchantment of Christmas to the Country Tonite Stage! We return to our hotel and get ready to watch the amazing Island Fireworks! We will have pizza (included) to enjoy while watching the fireworks. Get some rest for our journey home.

Breakfast buffet (included) in our hotel. Bags out 9:00am., depart 9:30am. We travel home with wonderful memories of our visit to the Great Smoky Mountains and all the fun we had ringing in the New Year! We will stop at Hamrick's to shop for some bargains. Lunch (on your own) at Culver's Restaurant in Sevierville. We will stop at Russel Stover Candy Store. Dinner (on your own) at Cracker Barrel, Lexington, Kentucky.
